Our beers are handcrafted using a range of ingredients and Yorkshire water to create different styles and strengths. Everything is made by hand, including the mashing of the grain, which is all done without a machine in sight and lots of hard graft.

DARK

BITTER / STOUT / PORTERS

Below is a selection of our expanding range of darker beers.
All beers are subject to availability, what is shown does not reflect what we have in stock but instead to show you what kind of beers we brew, so do please do get in touch.

BITTER / 3.9% BITTER / CORE

Teak in appearance and brewed using a select blend of five malts. Saaz, Magnum, Bullion and Goldings hops give this true Bitter an initial citrus aroma that gives way to a full palate and a dry, bitter finish.

THE TIME IS RYE / 4.1% RYE MILD

A blend of Crystal, Chocolate and Rye malts have produced a dark chestnut coloured mild. Whilst slightly bitter, flavours of honey and blackcurrant can be found from Goldings and Bramling Cross hops.

STEADY STATE / 4.2% BEST BITTER

A blend of chocolate and crystal malts give a smooth caramel and toffee flavour, whilst the East Kent Goldings and Willamette hops bring a floral and sweet aroma with a hint of elderberry.

OLD MILL / 4.2% STOUT

Smooth and creamy, made with roasted malts giving a chocolaty taste. Unfined (V/Ve)

DO YOU KNOW THE MUFFIN MAN? / 4.5% GINGERBREAD PORTER

Do you know the muffin man is brewed using pale, crystal, oat, chocolate and wheat malts to create this flavoursome gingerbread porter? The Bullion hop imparts flavours and aromas of dark fruit and spice lending well to this brew. Homemade ginger root extract gives a pleasant tickle on the tongue and added lactose provides a smooth and creamy finish and mouthfeel. Unfined (V)

1848 / 4.8 STOUT / CORE

Creamy, made with roasted malts giving a taste of chocolate and liquorice. Northern Brewer hop gives a pleasantly bitter finish. Unfined (V/Ve)

MOO MOO / 4.9% MILK PORTER

A blend of Chocolate and Dark Crystal malts gives this Porter a superb silky dark appearance. The East Kent Goldings hop brings an earthy and honey flavour to the beer, organic cocoa adds a wonderful depth of chocolate and lactose gives a velvety milky texture and mouthfeel, all rounded off with Madagascan vanilla. (V)

BLANTYRE / 5.0% RUBY

Blantyre, a robust Ruby ale, is brewed using Yorkshire water, quality malts and single hopped with the British hop Bramling Cross. This assertive, well rounded hop brings a wonderful balance to the rich malty tones. Earthy spicy aromas present first, followed with flavours of fruity blackcurrant and spice, finishing with a smooth bitterness at the end.

IBA / 5.5% INDIAN BROWN ALE

Super smooth, gorgeous mid to dark brown ale with a brilliant shiny appearance. Brewed using a blend of roast barley, chocolate malt and base malt. Hopped with Columbus & Mittlefruh. Aromas of chocolate, coffee and spice with a hint of fruitiness. Flavours of blackcurrant, chocolate and citrus. 

LOCK KEEPER / 5.7% PORTER

A smooth dark Porter. Brown malt gives smoothness, coffee and chocolate tones. Bramling Cross hops adds spice. A true winter porter. Unfined (V/Ve)

SEVEN DIALS / 6.5% BLACK IPA

Vienna and dark malts give a sweet burnt toffee flavour blended with an essence of smooth coffee. A mix of triple hops brings a unique aroma of spice, citrus and pine to this Black IPA. Unfined (V/Ve)

PALE

PALES / BLONDES / GOLDEN BEERS

ENDEAVOUR / 3.7% BLONDE / CORE

Single hopped Blonde using British hop Endeavour. Blackcurrant, loganberry and spice notes best describe the aroma. Wonderful grapefruit and lime flavour, but not too overpowering, with a slight bitterness. Easily quaffable.

TASMAN BAY / 3.8% PALE

First Impressions are a very pale ale. Tasman Bay is single hopped with the extremely versatile Motueka hop, it has a lively fresh lime flavour followed by a tropical fruit and lemon zest. Big citrus notes dominate a slightly bitter brew with a long last finish.

KORU / 3.9% NZ PALE

A nod to the southern hemisphere, this uber smooth triple hopped pale has been brought together with a delicate balance of Pacific Gem, Motueka and Rakau all from New Zealand. Refreshing bitterness, with citrus and pine aromas, subtle lime background with a bold fruitiness. 

GOLDY LOCKS / 4.0% BLONDE / CORE

Made using Pale Crystal malt, giving a delicate toffee aftertaste. Cascade aroma hop provides a refreshing citrus flavour. OUR BEST SELLING BLONDE & AWARD WINNING IN BOTTLE

HOP SHOT / 4.0% PALE

Fully loaded Hop Shot of US Citra hop. Smooth and floral with a citrus aroma and flavour. Strong hop kick while allowing solid flavour to come out. 

AZACCA / 4.1% PALE

Using the very best American Azacca hop, named after the Haitian God of Agriculture. Taste is slightly bitter with citrus, mango and pine characteristics in flavour and aroma.

KORITO / 4.1% NZ BLONDE

Korito, a refreshing triple hopped NZ blonde, brewed using Southern Cross, Waimea and Pacifica hops. Abound with fruity citrus and pine characters in both aroma and flavour, finishing with a soft yet commanding satisfying bitterness.

DR RUDI / 4.1% PALE

Dr Rudi is a single-hopped very pale New Zealand ale. Brewed using a combination of pale malts and wheat malt which gives it its pale appearance and a smooth malty backbone, the Dr Rudi hop provides fresh citrus notes beneath a mix of pine and lemongrass aromas and delivers a clean, crisp bitterness in the aftertaste. A super refreshing and moreish ale.   

SESSION IPA / 4.2% INDIAN PALE

A combination of American hops in the kettle, then dry-hopped in the fermenter to add depth. Our session IPA has sharp citrus and spicy notes.

AIRE GOLD / 4.2% GOLD / CORE

This golden ale is brewed using a combination of East Kent Goldings and Saaz hops, giving smooth earthy flavours with a little honey and pleasant subtle herbal and spice overtones; with a hint of caramel in the back taste.

RAKAU / 4.3% NZ GOLD

A golden ale single hopped with the New Zealand Rakau hop. Beautiful tropical notes in the nose, with overtones of soft apricot and fresh orchard fruits; then dry hopped in the fermenter bringing a further intensity of aromas to the beer. Finishing with a fruity but slight bitterness on the palate.  

CENTENNIAL / 4.4% GOLD / CORE

A golden ale single hopped with the New Zealand Rakau hop. Beautiful tropical notes in the nose, with overtones of soft apricot and fresh orchard fruits; then dry hopped in the fermenter bringing a further intensity of aromas to the beer. Finishing with a fruity but slight bitterness on the palate.  

TRI-STATE / 4.5% AMERICAN PALE

A triple hopped American pale, brewed using Chinook, Centennial and dry hopped with Mosaic hops. Golden in appearance with flavours of citrus, pine and spice. A bitter and tart dry finish.

MOSAIC / 4.6% PALE

The nose is greeted with invitingly complex aromas of fresh tropical fruit and pine. Refreshing flavours of citrus and herbal notes embrace the taste buds, finishing with a wonderful clean bitterness on the palate. Award-winning (Won GOLD for its category at Bradford Beer Festival 2018.)

BOHEM / 5.3% BOHEMIAN PILSNER

This cask conditioned Pilsner is fermented at a very low temperature to produce a clean crisp Bohemian Pilsner. We have hopped with Magnum to produce a slight bitterness and with Czech Saaz for a very mild, earthy, herbal and spice aroma.

MANGO SHAKE / 5.5% INDIAN PALE

We’ve shaken up some mangoes and added some lactose to create this moreish mango milkshake IPA! Brewed using pale malt, wheat malt and oats giving the beer it’s malty full-bodied backbone; along with the Azacca and Pacifica hop. Predominate fruity flavours of mellow mango and delicate citrus, followed by slightly sweet and earthy notes. A pleasant lingering bitterness, finishing with a smooth creamy backend. Unfined and naturally hazy. (V)

JAMESTOWN / 5.4% AMERICAN PALE / CORE

A blend of Chinook, Crystal and Simcoe hops make this American Pale Ale slightly spicy with distinct piny notes with an aroma of grapefruit and a hint of apricot.

NORTH SOUTH DIVIDE / 5.6% PALE

Northern hemisphere and Southern hemisphere hops have been carefully blended and then dry double hopped to produce this satisfying hop bomb. A superb moreish flavour with a refreshing and dry long lasting finish.

BIG DIPA / 7.5% DOUBLE IPA

A robust New Zealand Double IPA with a hop profile to knock your socks off! Rakau, Pacifica, Wai-iti and Southern Cross hops blended; dry-hopped with Rakau for an extra punch. Apricot, orange, lemon and lime and tropical fruit flavours zing over the palate. A lasting moreish finish. Unfined and naturally hazy. (V/Ve)

BOTTLED BEER

GOLDY LOCKS / 4.0% BLONDE / 500ml

Goldy Locks was named by Darren’s wife, it worked as soon as she said it. It’s nothing to do with bears and porridge! The Locks are a reference to the 3 and 5 rise canal locks. Goldy Locks is brewed using quality pale and crystal malts give the beer a delicate toffee aftertaste and cascade hops provide a refreshing citrus fragrance.

CENTENNIAL / 4.4% GOLD / 500ml

Centennial, a golden ale, is brewed using pale crystal and rye malts produce a subtle malty base while the Centennial hop gives a delicate floral aroma and tangy aftertaste.

MOSAIC / 4.6% PALE / 500ml

This handcrafted pale bitter is brewed using quality malts and single hopped with the American hop Mosaic. The nose is greeted with invitingly complex aromas of fresh tropical fruit and pine. Refreshing flavours of citrus and herbal notes embrace the taste buds, finishing with a wonderful clean bitterness on the palate.

1848 / 4.8% STOUT / 500ml

1848 commemorates local activists in Bingley, who as part of the Chartist uprising were in involved in a disturbance at Bingley magistrates court and rescued two of their compatriots from custody. 1848 is a creamy stout brewed using pale, crystal and roast malts giving the beer a hint of chocolate and liquorice. Whilst Northern Brewer hops provide a pleasant bitter finish.

BLANTYRE / 5.0% RUBY / 500ml

Blantyre is a reference to the Dowager Lady Blantyre, who for 30 years during summer regularly sat, read and enjoyed the scenery from her favourite spot in the St Ives estate near Bingley. Blantyre, a robust ruby ale, is brewed using quality malts and single hopped with the British hop Bramling Cross. This assertive, well-rounded hop brings a wonderful balance to the rich malty tones. Earthy spicy aromas present first, followed with flavours of fruity blackcurrant and spice, finishing with a smooth bitterness at the end.

JAMESTOWN / 5.4% AMERICAN PALE / 500ml

Jamestown is a nod to the endeavour and determination of the settlers who landed and created the 1st British colony in the Americas in 1607. Jamestown is an American pale ale brewed using pale, crystal and Munich malts provide the backbone whilst Chinook, Crystal and Simcoe hops provide the hop kick giving notes of grapefruit and apricot.

You may have noticed that our bottled ales disappeared for a little while (about a year!) due to unfortunate circumstances. Well, there is no need to dwell on the past as they are back! Woo!

Goldy Locks Blonde 4% and Centennial Golden 4.4% are now available again in bottles.

Our 5L Mini Kegs are perfect for many occasions. With an inbuilt tap and an easy carry handle, they are a fantastic way to store and dispense our real ale in the comfort of your own home and enjoy with family and friends. So, if you’re having a party, bbq or have an event coming up our real ales are set to impress. 

How our Mini Kegs work!

We aim to fill as many of our mini kegs as possible after a regular monthly brewery-tap opening. There is no guarantee that we will have some in stock. Please feel to contact us to check if we do.

Mosaic wins Gold and Beer X

What a busy week it has been for us here at the Brewery! Receiving awards for our beer and taking a trip to Liverpool for the annual event that is Siba BEER X on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th March, it’s been a lot of fun.

**MOSAIC WINS GOLD**

At Bradford Camra’s Bradford Beer Festival at the end of last month, held at the beautiful Victoria Hall in Saltaire, our Mosaic Pale was voted by the public the best beer in 4.6% – 5% category which won it Gold! Woohoo! On Sunday 11th March we attended the awards/volunteer party where we received our award plaque. We are really delighted to get this and would just like to thank each and every person who voted for our single hopped sensation that is Mosaic.

  

Collaborations

COLLABORATION BEERS

ALTWEISSE / 60.% ALT BIER

This dark Westphalian Sticke Altbier was made in collaboration with Eyes Brewing of Leeds. Brewed using wheat malts, a crisp body has been achieved through fermenting at a low temperature. Malty and fruity flavours can be found and noble hop aromas, with a wonderful subtle oakiness from the addition of French Oak chips to the cask.

SAFFRON GOLD / 4.5% GOLD

Brewed in collaboration with the Peacock Bar, Bradford. Saffron Gold uses real Saffron. 

REDNECK / 5.5% WEST COAST RED IPA

Redneck, a 5.5% West Coast Red IPA created in collaboration with Hooded Ram, is brewed using a blend of Pale, Munich, Red Crystal and Wheat malts that provide a wonderful sparkling ruby coloured ale. With a super selection of hops and there’s a few! Magnum, Amarillo, Chinook, Cascade and Mosaic give a citrus hit, intensified through dry hopping Summit and the new American hop Loral. Finished off with a smooth, malty backbone.

GARDEN FOX / 4.3% AMBER BITTER

This Amber bitter was brewed in collaboration with the Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge and The Gardeners Rest, Sheffield to celebrate Cooperatives Fortnight. Made using Pale and Dark Malts and Wheat Malt giving a subtle malty backbone. East Kent Goldings and Motueka hops in the kettle bring lovely aromas of lively citrus characters and delicate floral flavours, then dry hopped with the USA hop Mosaic for an extratropical fruity punch.

TAKES TWO TO MANGO / 5% MANGO IPA

Takes two to mango is a limited-edition IPA collaboration with Northern Monkey Brew Co. Unfined and brewed using Citra hop giving punchy tropical flavours and copious amounts of mango puree added to give a super mango hit on the palate, then double dry hopped with El Dorado to create this tongue tingler ending with a delightful fruity bitterness.

NEW BEERS

In a proper new year spirit, we have created some new beers this month. Check them out below along with the tasting notes.

Bingley Bitter 3.9% – Teak in appearance and brewed using a select blend of five malts.

Mosaic 4.6% – A pale golden coloured bitter, single hopped with the US Mosaic hop. Aromas of fresh tropical fruit and pine, with notes of citrus and herbs fizzing on the palate and a slightly dry finish.

Moo Moo 4.9% – A blend of Chocolate and Dark Crystal malts gives this Porter a superb silky dark appearance. The East Kent Goldings hop brings an earthy and honey flavour to the beer, organic cocoa adds a wonderful depth of chocolate and lactose gives a velvety milky texture and mouthfeel, all rounded off with Madagascan vanilla.

Eye’s Brewing Collaboration

Tuesday 28th November, Eye’s Brewing of Leeds joined us at the Brewery for a day of collaboration. Altweisse was created – a dark Westphalian Sticke Altbier. Brewed using wheat malts, a crisp body achieved by fermenting at a low temperature. Malty and fruity flavours can be found and noble hop aromas, with a wonderful subtle oakiness from the addition of French Oak chips to the cask. From a limited batch, we have been very pleased with the response and views.
